Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Menstruation is the periodic flow occurring in women, which sheds off the lining or endometrium uterus as blood and
tissues through the vagina. The normal menstrual cycle occurs at regular intervals of
24–35 days in women. On an average, 40 mil of blood is passed during a menstrual period which can typically
last from 3 to 7 days.
But in some cases, women tend to experience abnormally heavy periods that go on for much longer time.
This is known as abnormal bleeding or abnormal uterine bleeding
(AUB). It can be either chronic (lasting for more than 6 months) or acute
(sudden & severe).
